Steve Ballmer’s latest act: ‘Evangelist of facts’

The former Microsoft CEO has spent more than $10 million building USAFacts, a nonprofit with the goal of making government data more accessible, and now plans to reach a wider audience. The idea came after Ballmer and his wife, Connie, were discussing how to invest in philanthropy. She had been working to help people in poverty. Ballmer was sure the government took care of that but discovered the details were hard to find.
